Community Exhibition call for entries!

This exhibition is based on the many successful One Hundred canvases exhibitions that have been held at Taupō Museum in the past.

The use of boxed frames in this exhibition encompasses artists working in a variety of mediums such as printing, photography, painting, 3D - weaving, clay, bone/wood carving, fibre and digital media rather than just painting.

Like One Hundred, each artist purchases an 8 x 10 frame from Taupō Museum for $10.  They take it away and produce an original artwork which reflects the theme ‘Taupō Framed’.

Artists then return their framed artwork to the Museum to be hung in the ‘Taupō Framed’ exhibition during summer 15/16.

Holiday makers can purchase an original artwork made in Taupō to take home as a souvenir to remember their holidays spent in our beautiful district.  The exhibition also starts in time for Christmas shopping.

Unlike One Hundred, artists can display their pieces either portrait or landscape and they can price their own work up to a maximum of $200.  A commission of 20% on sales will be charged as a fundraiser for the Friends of the Taupō Museum towards future Museum projects.

Come and purchase your frame from Taupo Museum today.

Please forward this information to your art group or artist friends.

We would love artists from all over the Taupo District to participate in the Taupo Framed exhibition.  So if you’re fromTurangi or the southern end of the lake and will find it difficult to get up to Taupo to purchase a frame we can send frames down to Turangi for you to collect.  Just give Kerence a call or email and she can organise for you. Phone 07 3761583 or email kstephen@taupo.govt.nz

Frames are selling well so don’t miss out!
