From the professional to the enthusiastic hobbyist, from painters to sculptors and printmakers, the group provides the opportunity for artists and art lovers to socialise, network, share and encourage each other creatively. The group represents a commitment to creating a vibrant, active arts community that benefits artists and ensures a fulfilling arts experience for visitors to the region.

Jo Rankin  and  Bob Mitchener

Jo Rankin

 CONGRATULATIONS  to Jo who has just secured international representation with Gallery104.com in New York, where they are displaying six images of her work on their website.This popular Kinloch Artist has been growing both her reputation and her business in the last few years. Since becoming a full time Artist Jo has been determined to succeed, she has embraced social media and says she posts on the sites at least five times a week " it's crucial to grow your art followers ". Jo is also represented by Waihi Beach Gallery, Soul Gallery in Hamilton and Artbox Gallery in Christchurch. 

Jo continues to learn through on-line Art courses and has recently started teaching from her studio/gallery in Kinloch. Life is busy for Jo - " being an Abstract Artist, living my dream, growing my business makes me happy and grateful for the opportunities that have opened up for me in my continuing artistic journey ". Bob Mitchener

Bob started painting with watercolour in his teens. He paints in the impressionistic style with an emphasis on design and strives for an emotional connection with the viewer. Before retiring to Taupo Bob and his wife Lynne owned their own successful gallery and gift shop in Riverhead, North/ West of Auckland. 

Bob has taught many workshops on watercolour and at one stage while living on Great Barrier Island Bob and an artist friend Graham Braddock established a residential Painting School covering all the foundation skills for painting in watercolour, acrylic and oils. Bob has won awards for watercolour and featured on the cover of the Australian Artist Magazine. Bob is currently nearing the completion of a four year on-line course with the Virtual Art Academy.

Bob enjoys painting landscapes, coastal scenes and still life subjects, he was one of the Artists on the 2018 Taupo Art Connection Art Trail to view more of Bob's Art visit his art blog  .
