To move forward we have to move back to a time and place that gives the members of Taupō Art Connection more autonomy over what they do and how they do it - this is the premise behind the Committee Motion to be presented at the Adjourned AGM.
The committee is asking the members to agree to dissolve the incorporation of Taupō Art Connection Incorporated in favour of Taupō Art Connection and to resolve to transfer the money and assets to Taupō Art Connection.
A majority of the committee are in favour of dissolving the incorporation of Taupō Art Connection Incorporated in favour of Taupō Art Connection (prior to December 2017).
Those of the committee who are in favour of dissolution see benefits in a more informal management structure whereby flexible systems of committee are able to be accommodated thereby attracting more people to take up/on roles within the group. We believe in rules, we believe in structure, but not to the extent that it stifles originality, inventiveness and creativity.
Our main objective going forward is to promote the visual arts in our region - we are local not global. Promoting the work of our member artists to locals and visitors is a priority and we will continue to do this through the QBW Art Trail and Art Exhibitions as well as hosting member artists on our website and DL Cards. We will also continue to host monthly social events aimed at connecting artists, from the emerging to professional all are welcome, including guests and supporters.
Our aim is to be receptive not defensive in the management of resources. We aspire to be connected, inclusive and collegial within the visual arts community of the Central Plateau.

The repurposing of fibre is a common theme throughout the Small Worlds Exhibition as collectively, we cannot escape the fact that our world is small resources are limited. Each Fibres Unlimited artist uses her favoured fibre to share her view on this theme.
