Watercolour Workshop: an ever changing tradition - With Evan Woodruffe
VENUE: Active Art Taupo, 5 Redoubt street, Taupo
MATERIALS: All Supplied
SPONSOR: Gordon Harris The Art & Graphic Store www.gordonharris
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Watercolour has always been a fluid practice; since its popular beginnings as a field-sketching tool in the early 19th Century, watercolour has always had the exploratory nature of drawing at its core. Lately watercolour has enjoyed a resurgence of interest from both young and old, and this has lead to new tools for the watercolour artist. New colours, new binders and mediums, along with new fibres for making papers and brushes offer new painting techniques, and new surfaces have been developed to free watercolour from the constraints of working on paper.
Recently back from exhibiting at the 8th Beijing Biennale, your tutor Evan Woodruffe is well respected for his in depth technical knowledge, with over 25 years’ experience of professionally researching artists’ materials, and an extensive exhibition and award history. www.evanwoodruffe
