Suzie grew up loving art and craft from a young age. Her mother taught her crafts and she was inspired by artists in the family. Throughout her life a number of art and craft teachers taught her to love exploring paint, pencil, pastel, paper-making, weaving, photography, quilt-making, printmaking and clay.
Today her main medium is paper clay. She loves it for being able to combine techniques, being able to work in 3D, painting on, in and over glazes, experimenting with glaze recipes and most latterly to screen print onto clay. Current inspiration comes from the sumptuousness of Victoriana and the treasures of her ancestors.
Her art is also both a product of and generator of her reflections on the lives that have gone before us. Deep and meaningful, or purely to delight, she can leave you to seek from her work, your own reality - such is the beauty of art.
