Desmond Lattey comes from a family which includes a number artists and craftspeople spanning several generations. He spent his first working years as a commercial artist, designer of screen printed fabrics, wallpaper, and furniture, then 20 years as an interior designer, during which time he continued painting and establishing his work.
He paints many subjects in oil and acrylic but more recently is concentrating on figure painting, winning a number of awards for both figures and animals.
Pauline Lattey has been a professional interior designer for many years including two years on the council of the Designers Institute of New Zealand. She won her first art award in an art competition run by a UK brand of tea in which all junior schools participated. She was 10 years old at the time.
Shes particularly attracted to portraiture, paints in watercolours and has won a number of awards.
