I began painting in watercolours with local artists followed by a series of courses in oil painting, being attracted by the texture and vibrancy of the pigments.
Landscapes and scenes in different places inspire me. Recreating these images on canvas invokes strong memories for me. My scenes of sacred places depict their survival and continuing significance in today’s world.
Creating my impressions of flowers reminds me of places and special occasions that I have been blessed to experience sometimes inspiring me to surrealism. My work also includes a series of fantasy gardens, and other works are inspired by tulip gardens in the Netherlands.
My journey is an ongoing process of discovering and developing my own style.
